Getting the Love You Want

A Two-Day Workshop for Couples

“We are created in connection, wounded in disconnection and healed in reconnection”

Harville Hendrix

Develop Tools that Enrich Your Connection and Increase Your Passion for Love and Life!

This workshop for couples offers a perspective and set of tools to enhance and deepen your committed relationship. The basis for this workshop rises out of Imago Theory developed by Drs. Harville Hendrix and Helen Hunt and is comparable to 3 to 6 months of weekly therapy sessions in cognitive and experiential learning. It is not a quick fix; however, it is a realistic understanding of the means to a safe and passionate relationship.

Understand the theory behind why you chose each other as partners in a long-term committed relationship; why it is that you will inevitably trigger each other’s best and worst selves; and, find out what you can do, in fact need to do, in order to deepen your relationship!

The workshop is designed to provide the safety needed to enable you to fully focus on your partner, yourself and your relationship.

This workshop is relationship education, not therapy.

The workshop is appropriate for you if:

  • It is early in your relationship and you would like to establish a solid foundation and healthy communication patterns
  • You want to enrich or deepen a good relationship
  • Your long term relationship is lacking energy, passion and a sense of connection
  • Your relationship is struggling and you want to see if it can be improved.

The workshop format includes:

  • Short lectures
  • Individual reflection and written work
  • Guided Imagery
  • Live demonstrations of communication skills and processes
  • Time to practice new behaviors and skills with your partner
  • Fun and nurturing activities

This workshop is designed to protect the integrity of your relationship. You work privately with your partner in a safe, comfortable and confidential manner. While you are given opportunity to share your experience, you are never required to do so.

The goals of the workshop are:

  • To provide a conceptual understanding of committed love relationships.
  • To develop new communication skills that break destructive cycles of relating.
  • To shift couples from blame to cooperation.
  • To develop constructive ways to express anger and resolve conflict.
  • To facilitate the healing process and renew passion and pleasure in your relationship.

Workshop Fee:
The workshop fee is $6,000 per couple and includes manuals, handouts, tuition and refreshments. Former workshop participants may review the workshop for $4,000/couple.
